K-STAR 비자트랙(Korea – Science & Technology Advanced Human-Resources Visa Track)은 국내에서 이공계 석·박사 학위를 취득한 우수 유학생에게 취업이 확정되지 않아도 총장 추천만으로 거주(F-2-7S) 자격을 부여하는 제도입니다. 지정된 32개 대학(기존 5개 과기원 + 신규 27개 일반대학) 석·박사 졸업자가 대상이며, F-2-7S 자격을 3년 유지하면서 연구 실적을 쌓으면 영주(F-5-16S)나 특별귀화 신청까지 연계될 수 있습니다. 즉, 한국에서 공부한 최고급 이공계 인재가 안정적으로 정착하고 연구를 계속할 수 있도록 장기체류·영주·국적까지 단계적으로 지원하는 ‘K-스타 인재’ 비자 프로그램입니다.

The K-STAR Visa Track (Korea – Science & Technology Advanced Human-Resources Visa Track) is a program that grants F-2-7S residency status to outstanding international students who obtain a master’s or doctoral degree in science or engineering in Korea. Even without a confirmed job offer, they can receive this status solely based on a recommendation from the university president.

Graduates from 32 designated universities (the original five science and technology institutes plus 27 additional universities) are eligible. If they maintain the F-2-7S status for three years and build strong research achievements, they may move on to permanent residency (F-5-16S) or even special naturalization. In short, K-STAR is a visa program designed to help top science and engineering talent educated in Korea settle long-term, continue their research, and eventually obtain permanent residency or citizenship.
