기업 맞춤형 인턴십 (K-Trainee)_D-4-2k VISA

법무부가 글로벌 인재 확보를 위해 새로운 기업 맞춤형 인턴십 비자, K-Trainee(D-4-2K) 프로그램을 출시했습니다. 이 제도는 해외 현지에서 활동 중인 유망 인재를 한국 기업의 전문 인재 풀로 성장시키기 위한 제도이며, 앞으로 2년간 시범 운영됩니다.

체류기간은 기본적으로 최대 6개월 인턴십이며, 필요 시 추가 1년까지 연장할 수 있습니다. 인턴 종료 후에는 귀국이 원칙이고, 인턴십 외 일반 취업활동은 제한됩니다. 한 사업장에서 동시에 인턴으로 둘 수 있는 인원은 100명을 넘을 수 없고, 상시 근로자 수의 10% 이내에서만 초청이 가능합니다. 사증발급인정서 신청은 초청 기업 소재지 관할 출입국·외국인관서에서 진행합니다.

참여 대상은 두 부류입니다. 첫째, 기업과 산학협력을 맺은 현지 대학의 학사 3학년 이상(29세 이하, 석·박사 포함) 우수 대학생으로, TOPIK 2급 이상이 필요합니다. 둘째, 현지 법인에 이미 채용된 전문인력으로, 국내에서는 특정활동(E-7-1, E-7-2) 77개 직종에 해당하는 분야의 인턴십에 참여할 인재입니다. 두 그룹 모두 신청서, 여권사본, 재학·재직 증명, 인턴 활동 계획서 등 관련 서류를 준비해야 합니다.

2년 시범 운영 대상 국가는 우리 기업이 150개 이상 진출해 있는 9개국입니다. 베트남, 중국, 태국, 일본, 인도, 인도네시아, 말레이시아, 싱가포르, 필리핀 인재들이 우선 대상이 되며, 향후 운영 성과에 따라 대상 국가와 규모가 확대될 수 있습니다. K-Trainee 프로그램은 K-인턴 비자(D-4-2K)를 통해 한국 기업과 해외 인재가 함께 성장할 수 있는 새로운 통로를 여는 정책입니다.

The Ministry of Justice has launched a new corporate-tailored internship visa called K-Trainee (D-4-2K) as part of Korea’s strategy to secure global talent. This program aims to nurture promising overseas talents into future professionals for Korean companies and will be run as a two-year pilot.

Participants can stay in Korea for an internship of up to six months, with the possibility of extending their stay for an additional year if needed. After completing the internship, returning to the home country is the basic rule, and other employment activities in Korea are restricted. Each company may host no more than 100 interns at the same time, and the number of K-Trainee interns must remain within 10% of regular employees. Companies apply for a Certificate for Visa Issuance at the local immigration office.

There are two eligible groups. The first is outstanding university students at partner universities abroad (at least 3rd-year undergraduates, including master’s and PhD students under age 29) who are sponsored by a Korean company; they must hold TOPIK Level 2 or higher. The second group is professional employees of overseas subsidiaries, who will join internships at the Korean headquarters in one of the 77 E-7-1/E-7-2 professional occupation fields. Both groups must submit an application form, passport copy, proof of enrollment or employment, a detailed internship plan, and other supporting documents.

For the two-year pilot, the program targets nine Asian countries where more than 150 Korean companies are operating: Vietnam, China, Thailand, Japan, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and the Philippines. Through the K-Trainee (D-4-2K) visa, Korean companies and overseas talents gain a new pathway to work together, build expertise, and prepare for long-term cooperation.
