• Using Shared Bikes

  • Seoul has a public bike system called "Ttareungyi," while other regions widely use private options like "Kakao T Bike."

  • Download the respective app, register a payment card, and scan the QR code on the bike to unlock it. When you're done, park it in a designated area so it doesn't block pedestrians, and press "End Ride" in the app.

• Crucial Rules for E-Scooters (Very Important) While E-scooters (like Swing, Beam, or Kickgoing) are everywhere and convenient, they are strictly regulated by Korean traffic laws. Foreigners are no exception, so you MUST follow these rules:

  1. Driver's License is Mandatory: You must have a valid Korean driver's license or an International Driving Permit to use E-scooter apps. Riding without a license results in a 100,000 KRW fine.

  2. Wear a Helmet: If the police catch you riding without a helmet, you will be fined 20,000 KRW.

  3. No Passengers: It is strictly illegal for two people to ride on a single E-scooter.
